Biscuits
You know how if you're reading something or watching or listening to something and they start to talk about something and it suddenly sounds really good and you have to have it? Well, maybe not. But that's what happened to me.
Biscuits, well, I guess I can only speak for these biscuits since they're the only biscuits I've ever made, are super easy to make! It only took 30 minutes or some other insanely short amount of time to make these! Start to finish, printer to cooling rack, 30 minutes! Can I get a "What what?"
I'm not exaggerating when I say that these are really easy to make! Just start with flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar...
Dice a stick of butter...
Combine the two parts and cut the butter into the flour, then add milk and an egg...
Mix it, throw it on a clean surface, and pat it flat. Cut the biscuits out, brush the tops with an egg wash, and bake them!
Easy!

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (regular table salt is okay too)
1 tablespoon granulated white sugar (optional, but if you can, use it)
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1. Preheat oven to 400 F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Sift or whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs or is about the size of peas (using a pastry blender or two knives).
4. Add milk and slightly beaten egg and stir with a spoon, rubber spatula, or your hands until combined. It should be sticky, moist, and lumpy.
5. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough gently until it comes together in a smooth dough. Roll out, or pat out, the dough until it's about 1/2 inch thick. Cut the biscuits with a round cookie cutter or glass.
6. Place on parchment paper and brush the tops with one beaten egg plus 1 tablespoon milk. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
The recipe says that it makes about 10 biscuits with a 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter, but I used that size and got 12ish.
Enjoy!
