Coffee Toffee Torte

Story time!

I was at my grandma's house a few weeks ago and we were going through her old recipe box. Boy o boy were there some fun ones there. Such as tuna spread! Or tuna balls. Or Italian Delight. Delightful.

So anyway there we were, flipping through all the cards and we came across this one. And it sounded delicious and amazing and I just had to have it. So we brought it home and made it for my birthday!

It was different from a regular birthday cake. It's made with angel food cake, which I'm not sure I'd ever had before this cake. Maybe not. But we didn't really want to get an angel food cake pan so we just got a store bought cake. And store bought pudding. And Heath bits. The pudding was the one you cook, though, not the five minute one.

How very instagram-y
So you get your cake and cut it horizontally twice, so you have three layers. Mix the pudding and coffee (and milk) and make it pudding-y. Mix it with whipped cream too to make it whipped cream-y.

Spread the pudding stuffs between the layers and on the sides as frosting. Coat the top and sides with Heath bits and you're done!

That's one easy cake if I've seen one.

I'm just going to share a picture of the recipe card instead of writing it out. I like how it's so authentic (not old)!

And I'm not exactly sure who Henrietta Littman is, or how she would feel about me putting her recipe card on the internet, but hopefully she wouldn't mind!
