Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

More Ice cream! Yay! Yeah, you guys are probably getting tired of all of these ice cream posts, right? It's not even baking! Well, I promise that I'll actually bake something sometime. Sometime. Like bread. I would like to make Ciabatta sometime. Sometime, like in the next two years. Stay tuned!

Anyway, I love this ice cream! It has Oreos in it, and it's so good! I just used the basic vanilla recipe from the Cuisinart booklet, and added 1 row plus a few more of Oreos. I put the cookies in a plastic baggie (gallon sized) and crushed them with my mighty power. All in all it came out to a bit more than 2 cups.

To make this ice cream, you first need to make the vanilla ice cream base. That's just milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla. Mix that up until the sugar is dissolved. Put it in the ice cream maker for 25-30 minutes.

 5 minutes past.

 10 minutes past.

 15 minutes past.

 20 minutes past.

 25 minutes past, plus Oreos.

Straight out of the machine.

The finished product, once it had time to chill in the freezer for about 2 hours.

This is probably my favorite ice cream that I've made so far!

Recipe (from Cuisinart recipe booklet):

1 cup milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Oreos (it says 3/4 cup, but I used 2 cups. I'm not sure if they measured them before or after they were crushed, I did after.)

Mix together everything except the Oreos until the sugar is dissolved (1-2 minutes with a hand mixer).

Pour it into the ice cream maker, and let it mix for 25-30 minutes. 5 minutes before it's done mixing, add in the Oreos, and let it finish mixing for the last 5 minutes.

Let it firm up in the freezer for about 2 hours.
